Browser plugins
Facebook Auto Live Feed (Firefox)(Chrome) – This plugin automatically changes from the “Top News” to the “Most recent” tab when first entering facebook. You can always choose to see the top news, but “Most recent” will always be default.
Any chance of a userscript for this as I don’t use firefox? Or a Google Chrome extension?
Yeah, I actually use chrome as well. Will look into creating a userscript for it whenever I get the time

Cool, thanks.
FB Auto Live Feed is now available as user script for Chrome and Greasemonkey.
Thats great. Thanks for doing that. You should upload the userscript to http://userscripts.org/ im sure many others would find it usefull.
I’ve used this as a firefox add-on for a while now & it has worked fine until recently.
When i log-in & the script detects the feed is on Top News it switches it to Most Recent as it is supposed to do, but it keeps refreshing the page over & over in a loop.
The only way to stop it is to load another facebook page or change the feed url from http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=lf to http://www.facebook.com/
The greasemonkey version does exactly the same thing.
I’ve noticed this hickup but only every now and then. I will look into it next week, I’ll get back to you
Although it works fine when you first enter on FB, it doens’t if you are e.g. seeing someone’s profile and then go back to “home”.
That’s true. Though if you are viewing someone’s profile you have probably entered the front page at least once before which means that it should still be at “live feed”.
I’ve been working on a new ajax-supported version of the plugin to fix what you mentioned and a bunch of other stuff. Unfortunately I don’t have the time right now :/
Take care,
Jonas
